4 Reasons Why Jeans Will Never Go Out of Style

by Erika

Welcome to Your Next Jeans!

We’re excited to start writing about anything and everything denim here on this blog. We’ll cover all topics from denim brands, to types of jeans, to celebrities wearing denim, but of course, we’re also open to comments and suggestions from fellow denim lovers out there. Feel free to contact us or leave us a comment anytime – we love to hear from Your Next Jeans readers.

To start things off, I’ll be writing about the king of all denim – the blue jean. Since they were invented way back in 1873 by Jacob Davis and Levi Strauss, jeans have never gone out of style. Here are 4 reasons why:

Reason # 1: You can wear jeans with anything

And not just anything – you can now wear jeans anywhere. Pair them with a casual tee and sneakers and you’re ready to go about your everyday activities. Wear them with a shirt and tie and you’re suddenly business casual, all set for a meeting with an important client. Pick a pair in a black color, wear them with dress shoes, and you’re all dressed up for a nice night out.

Depending on what you wear with your jeans, you can go from work, to casual, to formal. Some people even get married in jeans! :

Reason # 2: Jeans are just so comfortable

A pair of worn-in jeans would feel almost like second skin. And the older they get, the more comfortable they get! They probably even look better too.

Reason # 3: Anyone can wear a pair of jeans

Man or woman, fat or thin, child or grown-up – anyone can wear a pair of jeans. Like people, jeans come in all shapes and sizes and that’s why everyone looks good in a well-selected pair of jeans.

Reason # 4: Jeans are always cool

Wearing a pair of jeans is always considered cool and you want to know why? Because they always change with the times.

In the 18th century, jeans were the choice work clothes of laborers because they were sturdy and did not wear out easily. Cowboys in the 1930s wore them for the same reasons. The Swinging Sixties brought in psychedelic jeans, embroidered jeans, and painted jeans, and by the time the 80s rolled in, jeans were already inducted into the world of high fashion.

Jeans are constantly being reinvented, always changing, always evolving. This is the biggest reason why jeans will never go out of style.
