Style on Trial #2: Ashlee Simpson

Ashlee Simpson’s style has changed a lot since she first introduced herself as a pop rock singer. She now prefers a more hippie, bohemian chic look. Nothing wrong with that except that Ashlee’s been seen rockin’ a pair of really short Levi’s denim cut off shorts lately. And when I say really short, I mean the pockets are much longer than the shorts themselves:

I agree that denim cut off shorts should make you feel cool and comfy, but must Ashlee Simpson wear hers hiked up even higher like that?

Style on Trial #3: Sophie Monk

These pictures of Australian actress Sophie Monk with Hayden Christensen came out right after Hayden’s split with Rachel Bilson was announced, so you can just imagine the rumors that these images started!

I say let them date whomever they want to date. Besides, the real scandal for us here at Your Next Jeans is Sophie Monk’s very holey, extremely tattered boyfriend jeans that are rolled at the waistband:

You know what, I can actually see where Sophie Monk was trying to go with this. It’s the boyfriend jean and the destroyed jean, two denim trends that are very hot right now. It’s just that Sophie Monk got lost somewhere along the way of executing this look and ended up looking like she literally fell off the cliff.

Those Cheap Monday Tight Cutout Jeans I featured last time as Debatable Denim are suddenly starting to look good.

If Sophie Monk wanted to go for the tattered boyfriend jeans look, how about going for something that at least has strands of fabric left over the holes for y’know, decency’s sake? Here’s one from Current/Elliott:
