Denim Challenge: Prps Heirloom Denim Coveralls

There were so many great denim pieces at Shopbop.com‘s Winter Sale (happening now!) but it was these overalls from Prps that made me stop:

Firstly, because they’re OVERALLS (can anyone above the age of seven – and doesn’t need them for work! – wear overalls with a straight face?). And secondly, because they look more like a shirt and shorts stuck together, especially with the top part all complete with sleeves like that:

It’s a little off-putting because this isn’t what denim overalls usually look like, but after a bit of thinking through, I slowly saw the potential in these.

The long, baggy cutoff shorts presented a bit of a challenge, but here’s how I would style the Prps Heirloom Denim Coveralls. I call it “outdoor mixed with military hardware”:
