The Best and Worst Denim Outfits at Weekend 1 of Coachella 2013

Low-key denim was in high demand at weekend 1 of Coachella 2013. From head scarves to flower headbands, no accessory was off limits when it came to making denim ready for the festival.

Celebrities served up plenty of denim looks, but while some were eye candy, there were also a few that were more of eyesores.

Read on to check out the best and worst denim outfits we spotted at the first weekend of this year’s Coachella.

The Best Denim Outfits

Alessandra Ambrosio

We consider Alessandra Ambrosio as a superstar here on Your Next Jeans, so it comes as no surprise that we totally loved her Coachella looks. Alessandra styled a floral head scarf and pink shorts like the seasoned pro that she is and made a tied-at-the-waist sleeveless chambray shirt look positively editorial-worthy.

Bella Thorne

If there ever was a right time and place to rock a flower headband and high-cut acid-wash denim shorts, it would be when you’re a youthful 15 years old and at Coachella like Bella Thorne.

Julianne Hough

Julianne Hough looked fresh at the festival in her simple button-down silk shirt and new shorter do.

Hilary Duff

Hilary Duff channeled an Indiana Jones–inspired look at Coachella. We love how her outfit is so simple yet so stylish and how the layers make it so easy to transition from day to night.

Joshua Jackson

Joshua Jackson is always the perfect style match to girlfriend Diane Kruger, who, unfortunately, had to be relegated to our worst denim outfits list.

Yes, we know he only changed his shirt for day 2 of Coachella, but we’re giving him extra points for his gentlemanly gesture of carrying around a blanket for Diane to sit on around his shoulders.

The Worst Denim Outfits

Kristen Stewart / Audrina Patridge / Emma Roberts

A bland knotted t-shirt + short shorts combo may be one of the most comfortable outfits you can wear to a music festival, but seeing it again and again on Kristen Stewart, Audrina Patridge, and Emma Roberts makes it seem even blander.

Ashley Benson

We’ve always found Ashley Benson really cute, but her penchant for black jeans ripped at the knees? Not so much.

Kelly Rowland

Kelly Rowland’s tough biker outfit would’ve looked good anywhere else, but not at Coachella. We do covet those gold-rimmed sunglasses though.

Joe Jonas

Those thighs! We know Joe Jonas has always preferred this type of jeans, but we think they look better with a t-shirt rather than this tank top.

Diane Kruger

This is one of Diane Kruger’s rare fashion misses. Her fleece-lined denim jacket looks super cozy, but its proportions are all wrong with that paper-bag-waisted pleated skirt and heavy combat boots.

Obsessing Over Kristen Stewart’s A.L.C. “Jude” Fold-Over-Waist Cropped Pants!

This is it. I am officially obsessing over those black pants Kristen Stewart wore to the On the Road screening at Disney Park Avenue in New York last Monday.

Of course, currently being one of the hottest Hollywood stars that she is, those pants that she wore were immediately identified. They are the following “Jude” cropped stretch wool twill pants with a pre-folded-over waistband:

A.L.C. “Jude” fold-over-waist cropped pants, $416.00

At first, I thought Kristen Stewart just folded down the waistband on these pants herself, seeing how much weight she has lost since her recent scandal. They are also a little loose on Kristen when they’re supposed to be slim fit. However, that only made the pants look so much better — a little grungy and rebellious for what’s supposed to be a pair of formal tailored trousers!

I could actually be describing Kristen Stewart instead of the pants in that previous sentence, which means that she and these pants are a perfect fit. And now I want one for myself! If you do, too, note that they’re sold out nearly everywhere except at Matches Fashion, which still has sizes 2, 4, and 6.

If you like the pants and how Kristen styled them, here are similar pieces to help you get her On the Road New York screening look.

Kristen Stewart’s photo-op style

1. Sandra Ingrish Roll Sleeve Knit Shirt, $48.00

2. L.A.M.B. “Ibbie” Platform Sandals, $227.50 (before: $325.00)

3. Eileen Fisher Stretch Silk Charmeuse Tank, $168.00

She also actually wore the pants to the airport the day before the screening. Her airport style then was more grungy but still comfortable and worth copying.

Kristen Stewart’s casual airport style

1. Chaser Deconstructed Pocket Tank, $53.00

2. Free People Vegan Leather with Knit Rib Jacket, $168.00

3. Converse Chuck Taylor All Star Core Hi, $45.00

Who would have thought that just folding down the waistband on a pair of trousers would make them more versatile?

Who Wore Her 7 For All Mankind Jeans at Comic-Con 2011 Better? Kristen Stewart Vs. Charlize Theron

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 wasn’t the only movie Kristen Stewart had to promote at last weekend’s Comic-Con 2011. And she also wasn’t the only female celebrity who felt comfortable enough to wear jeans to the annual convention.

Charlize Theron, Kristen’s co-star in Snow White and the Huntsman, also stood out in jeans at the event. Not only are they promoting the same movie and both wearing jeans, but they’re also both wearing 7 For All Mankind!

Below is a photo of them taken during the convention. Between the two, who do you think wore her 7FAMs better? Their outfits couldn’t be any more different than night and day. Check ‘em out and compare.

Kristen Stewart at the Snow White and the Huntsman panel discussion held at Comic-Con 2011 in San Diego, California on July 23, 2011

Like her first outfit at Comic-Con, Kristen Stewart went for cool, casual, and comfortable at last Saturday’s Snow White and the Huntsman panel discussion. She wore a graphic printed tank top over her 7FAMs, which again revealed her black bra underneath.

Kristen replaced the Chuck Taylors with a pair of black lace-up oxfords, but the look still remained largely easygoing, laid-back, and dressed down. Kristen accessorized with her Little Red Riding Hood spoon ring and her gold and silver clover ring, both of which never seem to leave her fingers.

On the other hand, Charlize Theron may be wearing jeans, but she can never look any less than the statuesque beauty that she is.

Interestingly enough, she wore a Vanessa Bruno top, which also revealed the black bra she wore underneath. Charlize finished off her look with Camilla Skovgaard sandals and 14k gold jewelry pieces.

Kristen Stewart’s jeans are these 7 For All Mankind jeans:

BoutiqueToYou has the most complete sizes, but you can also find some larger sizes at Zappos. These jeans retail for $169.00. A size 31 is currently going for 30% off at Singer22.

Kristen Stewart Stands Out at Comic-Con 2011 in 7 For All Mankind The Skinny Second Skin Jeggings

While her other female Twilight co-stars were in dresses and heels, Kristen Stewart attended Comic-Con 2011 in a t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers.

Not that she needed to be dressed up for the occasion — she’s at Comic-Con after all!

If anything, Kristen Stewart dressing down for this appearance made it easier for her to get in touch with her fans. And Comic-Con is all about the fans, especially at an event that’s titled “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 Comic-Con Fan Meet and Greet.”

Here are pictures of Kristen Stewart still looking fab in her t-shirt, jeans, and sneakers at yesterday’s Comic-Con 2011.

Kristen Stewart’s jeans may be a designer pair, but she doesn’t reserve them just for special occasions. She has, in fact, been seen in these jeans numerous times before, including at a 2011 MTV Movie Awards afterparty, a movie premiere, and while traveling to Canada and Europe!

Kristen has really wearing out these jeans, and you can see them starting to fade ever so slightly.

They still fit Kristen Stewart amazingly though even if she’s worn them so many times.

Kristen’s seemingly favorite jeans of the moment are the following 7 For All Mankind jeans:

You can purchase these jeans for $149.00 at Shopbop and Revolve Clothing.

Kristen Stewart in J Brand 912 Low-Rise Pencil-Leg Jeans

This is a week old, but I just had to blog about this.

Jeans are usually the most casual, distressed, and destroyed part of an outfit, but in Kristen Stewart’s case, her jeans were actually the most presentable.

Here’s KStew — with her ultra-laid-back ensemble — arriving at the studio of the Jimmy Kimmel Live! show for her appearance with the rest of the The Twilight Saga: Eclipse cast last Monday, June 14.

Unbrushed hair, torn and tattered shirt, dirty and unlaced oxfords — like I said, Kristen Stewart’s jeans were really the most presentable part of her outfit.

Kristen Stewart is wearing the 912 low-rise pencil-leg jeans from J Brand. Her exact wash (murphy) isn’t available anymore, but Singer22 has it in dark vintage and ink.

J Brand 912 Low-Rise Pencil-Leg Jeans in Dark Vintage, $159.00 (Sold Out)

Oh and if you’re wondering about the rest of Kristen Stewart’s outfit, yes, that holey shirt and those worn-out shoes are actually luxury brand/designer. Her shirt is the Ripped Eagle Tee from the SIMONE by Katie Nehra Fall 2010 collection, while her shoes are the Modern Vintage Distressed Suede Oxfords.

The shirt is mind-bogglingly sold out everywhere, but you can get the exact shoes for $174.99 (before: $250.00) at SaksFitfhAvenue or the black ones for $117.50 (before: $235.00) at Shopbop.
